- The sign of the leading coefficient determines if the graph eventually goes up or down
- Even-degree polynomials have the same behavior on both ends
- Higher-order terms dominate the trend as x becomes very large
- A polynomial of degree n can have at most n-1 turning points
- The degree represents the maximum complexity of the trend's path
- Predicting long-term outcomes based on the leading term's sign and degree
