Forces, Chemistry, and Living Circuits
Like Duolingo, but for Forces, Chemistry, and Living Circuits. Tomo turns the whole topic into a game you play five minutes a day, until it actually sticks.
For the part of you with thirty open tabs that never became anything.
A short one: 12 levels across 2 sections, about 24 minutes end to end, roughly 5 days at five minutes a day. It moves through Harnessing Energy and Matter and Living Systems and Smart Signals. It starts from scratch.

Key ideas in Forces, Chemistry, and Living Circuits
- Current only flows when there is an unbroken path leading from one terminal back into the other
- A single wire connection cannot deliver power because charges have nowhere to return
- Voltage is the electrical pressure provided by a battery
- Current is the volume of charge moving through the circuit over time
- Increasing voltage increases the rate at which charge flows through a given path
- Thin pathways offer high resistance by restricting electron flow
- Restricted electron flow converts electrical energy into heat and light
- Thick copper wires provide very low resistance, allowing charges to pass without heating up noticeably
- A switch physically creates a gap of air in the conductive loop
- Air is an insulator that halts current, even though the battery still holds its charge
- Turning off a switch doesn't drain or turn off the battery directly; it simply breaks the loop
- Bypassing a load leaves essentially zero resistance in the circuit
- Without resistance, current spikes dramatically to dangerous levels
- Extreme current generates rapid, intense heat that can melt insulation or cause burns and fires
- Atoms cannot appear or vanish during chemical reactions, only reconnect into different compounds
- Gases produced in a reaction still have weight even if they become invisible in the air
You've tried the other tabs
Thirty open tabs. Four facts you actually kept.
You watched. You nodded. By Sunday it was gone.
One answer, then back to scrolling.
Eight weeks. You meant to finish. You didn't.
Tomo gives Forces, Chemistry, and Living Circuits the Duolingo treatment: levels, streaks, and quick quizzes that test what you just learned. That game loop is what the tabs above never had, so it's the one you actually finish.
Here's what playing it feels like
A real question from this course. Take your best guess.
What happens if you connect a light bulb to a battery using only a single wire on one terminal?
