- Centerpieces are fixed to the internal core and cannot change position relative to one another
- The single color of a face's centerpiece dictates which color that entire side must be when solved
- No matter how much you turn the outer layers, the centers never swap places
- A Rubik's cube is built from rigid physical pieces, each bearing two or three colored stickers that can never separate
- An edge piece is a single plastic block with two stickers; turning a layer moves both colors together
- Solving the cube requires putting entire multi-colored pieces into their correct slots, not moving individual colors independently
- Yellow is directly opposite white on a standard cube
- Gathering white edges around yellow creates a temporary holding zone where turns cannot ruin an existing white layer
- Building the daisy frees beginners from the mental burden of preserving already-solved pieces while hunting for remaining edges
- Each white edge on the daisy has a secondary side color (like blue, red, green, or orange)
- Turning the top layer lines up this secondary color with the center of the same color
- A 180-degree turn of that side face drops the white sticker down to the white center while keeping the side color aligned
- A solved cross requires both the white stickers to meet the white center AND each edge's side color to match its adjacent center
- Having four white edges on the white face is only half the job; if side colors mismatch their centers, the cross will block the rest of the solve
- Corners do not need to be solved to have a correct white cross
- Each corner piece has three distinct colors that match exactly one specific slot on the cube
